Dr. Vollmer has been practicing with True North Oral Surgery & Implants, formerly Maplewood Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, for 22 years. He is an experienced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, having practiced in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Illinois. He completed his residency training at Hennepin County Medical Center and the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Vollmer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as Member of the Minnesota Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society, as well as True North Professional Studies Chapter of the Seattle Study Club.
During his time at True North Oral Surgery & Implants, Dr. Vollmer has worked to expand the practice’s presence in the Forest Lake region, designing and opening the new Forest Lake office and strengthening relationships with local dental and specialty offices. He also facilitated a partnership with Forest Lake Endodontics in our Forest Lake clinic, expanding convenient specialty dental care access in the community.
Our practice has been committed to excellence in dental education, and currently Dr. Vollmer serves as the Director of our True North Professional Studies Chapter of the Seattle Study Club, serving the Northeast Twin Cities metropolitan area. He is a Past President of the St. Paul District Dental Society and had the privilege of serving on the Executive Council of the St. Paul District Dental Society and committees for the St. Paul District Dental Society and Minnesota Dental Association.
Dr. Vollmer has been honored to be named in Minnesota Monthly magazine as a “Top Dentist” for multiple years and to be named as a “Top Dentist” by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine for 2025.
Dr. Vollmer resides in Stillwater, with his wife and Forest Lake native, Carrie, and two pugs, Melvin & Pippy.
